If your looking for a detox getaway the Maypole Inn is ideal. Located in an area of poor phone and Internet availability it's a great excuse to turn devices off and chill. Very helpful friendly staff and welcoming locals. Wood burning stoves in the bar area add to the welcoming ambience. The accommodation areas are a little tired but nothing that a little TLC can't fix. Comfortable good sized room with all necessary amenities. Food was excellent as were the cask ales. Great service from friendly staff. We will definitely return and stay again.
Lovely little pub with a proper village feel! Joined in on the quiz night and accidentally won due to being tactically crap food really nice too and a good selection of beer. If I was going to give feedback it would to stick a sticker over the green light (battery light for emergency exit) as its bright as a light house at night! Very dog friendly, lots of treats so our dog loved it, thanks.
Excellent friendly village pub with great food and beers. The rooms are fantastic, all with character. Spotlessly clean, and lovely furniture with high quality bedding.
Our room was nice and spacious with the extra benefit of a small table, a window seat and a sofa. The beds and linen were very comfortable and the shower room very clean and modern. The decor slightly dated. Food was served from lunch through till evening which is a bonus, a good selection and tasty. Breakfast offered good cooked options, kippers, cereals & juice. We were lucky to catch an open mic night, featuring some local talent which made for an enjoyable evening. There are some good rural walks from the door, and very easy to find on the main road, easy to travel to & from.
Great place to stay overnight, good spacious rooms and really good value as includes breakfast. Checking in was quick but morning staff during breakfast could be a bit more polite. We sat (3 people) for a good 25 minutes waiting for staff so we can ask for breakfast and 3 different staff walking in and out of kitchen each time, no one saying anything as if we did not exist sat in a table and there was no one else in there apart from us. I finally asked a young girl who was lovely, for breakfast and to be fair to them served us good breakfast. Maybe just could work on the hospitality part. Other than that, all was good.
Lovely weekend spent at the Maypole Inn in Long Preston. Went into Skipton on the train and visited Malham Cove after checking out. Great base for exploring. Rooms & bar are dog friendly, cosy, comfy & clean. Had steak for tea and was cooked to perfection. Drink selections were great and breakfast was fantastic. Staff were lovely. Recommend the Maypole if you are visiting the Yorkshire Dales and need a stopover.
Completely faultless stay. Room was clean, comfy, and quiet. The food was excellent, also catered well for gluten-free. Dog friendly. Nice area. We only stayed one night but it surpassed any expectations we had.
Had a lovely family dinner here. Great homemade food, well cooked with generous portions. Good range of beers and nice service. Good value.
